ATTENTION FOLLOWERS: If you are female, currently follow my blog, and you were born after May 29, 1988, I want you as my little sister!

Let me explain: The other day, I got to thinking that there are some women and young girls on here besides myself who run damn good music blogs in their own right, have interesting things to say, and are good at documenting shows. This led me to create a new feature on my blog called “Little Sisters”. It will be a separate page that will link the blogs that my blog has “adopted”, and will include info about the blog and its creator.

I am looking for TEN (10) “little sisters”! Want CodeAires to adopt your blog? Here are my qualifications:

• You must be a current follower of this blog. Don’t follow me at random and then try to apply, it won’t work!
• You must be born after May 29, 1988 (that’s my birthday), therefore making you younger than me. I would prefer applicants to be born in the late ’80s (1988 and 1989), and the early ’90s (1990 - 1995).
• Your blog’s content must be centered around music, and must contain original content. I prefer those who document sludge/doom metal shows, but I will accept other forms of music if your blog impresses me. The best way to get my attention is to have original content (ie. articles you’ve written, pictures you’ve taken, videos you’ve shot, etc.). You don’t have to know people in the bands you cover, as long as you cover them with first-hand experience.

Hmm, I don’t think I mentioned much about my future employment plans on this blog, but it’s probably time that I start. Yes, the plans I am orchestrating for my future are music-related, and as it turns out, the articles that I’ve written here could be a huge asset.

Last week, I met with UTC’s career planner with the hopes of getting a good, honest critique of my resume, as well as receiving tips on where to start searching for jobs in Atlanta. Said career planner told me that my resume was nearly flawless, except for one little thing - she thinks that I should include my experience in up-keeping this blog and my other sites in the Special Skills section, as it would look enticing to potential employers.

Naturally, I took this as a huge compliment, and it also lit a fire under my ass. There is a LOT of motivation to keep searching around for any magazines or webzines based in Atlanta that might be interested in my brand of music journalism. I was given a couple of suggestions last night, but I still need more tips about different publications that I could submit some of my written work to.

Also, most importantly, I need to do a few more interviews with bands in the business. There are a couple of bands that I could easily interview, and my contacts at Relapse could provide a few more. Sadly, the reason why I haven’t written many articles on this blog lately is because I’ve been so busy with coursework this semester (I’m a Senior, shit happens) as well as my job as an English tutor. This is why I’ve tried to post a lot of audio tracks of songs that I’m currently digging as compensation for lack of new, exclusive content.

Here’s where you can help: If you are in a band, I need to do an interview with you, pronto. It doesn’t matter if I’ve never heard of you before; I’d just like to do a good little Q&A session. For more information, please contact me on Facebook or through email: codeaires@gmail.com.

My ultimate goal is to graduate college in May 2012 and move to Atlanta sometime between July and September 2012. Arrangements for employment and living need to be made as early as possible, and I can’t do all of this alone. Any help you can provide will be much appreciated.

You’re either jealous that you haven’t gotten the same opportunities, or you can’t really get a handle on why doing what I do is important to me.

In either case, fuck off. I’m going to keep on doing me, you keep on doing you, and we’ll both get what we deserve. I can guarantee that much.
