I sing and play guitar in a UK doom groove band called Alunah. We’ve been around for 5 years, have an album (“Call of Avernus”) out on Catacomb Records and have played with the likes of Trouble, Paradise Lost, Nebula, Fu Manchu, Roadsaw, Witchcraft, Graveyard and Orange Goblin! We have a show coming up with Acid King which is pretty mind blowing for me!

What are your favorite songs to perform live? 

“Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn” because it’s got an amazing groove and I love the chanting at the end, and “Song of The Sun” because it’s got a cool bluesy vocal which I love singing!

Did you have any female rock idols growing up? Who were they?

Did you have any female rock idols growing up? Who were they?: Janis Joplin is my all time idol purely for her voice and philospophy but Tairrie B of Manhole/Tura Satana/My Ruin was probably by earliest idol! The female who made me want to sing and play guitart in a band was Lori from Acid King, that influence is picked up on in a lot of our reviews and I’m honoured to be playing with her soon.

Your advice to girls who want to start their own metal bands is…

The same advice I’d give to a man… if you want to do it, do it and don’t let anyone or anything stop you, the soundest advice I can give is to take some room freshner on tour because it’s not too fresh sharing a van with a bunch of blokes!!
